ラグビーワールドカップ日本大会が開催された2019年、ラグビー元日本代表キャプテンの廣瀬俊朗、音楽家の村田匠、歌手の田中美里により結成。＜世界中から来るファンや選手を国歌を歌っておもてなし＞することをキーワードに活動を開始し、国歌の歌唱練習動画をYouTubeにて公開し始めた。

その活動は徐々に広がり、同年７月には国際テストマッチ「日本vsフィジー」にて両国の国歌斉唱し、パブリックビューイベントを始めとした日本全国のラグビーイベントに出演し、小学校や中学校にも歌唱指導を実施。ワールドカップ大会期間中も公式パブリックビューイベント「ファンゾーン」に多数出演した。最終的には、ラグビーワールドカップの公式コンテンツとなり、全国の会場で試合前に観客も含めて両国の国歌を歌うことに注目が集まっていき、決勝の会場でもスクラムユニゾンが監修した国歌の歌詞カードが配られた。

 

その活動を評価され、2020年にはヤマハ発動機スポーツ振興財団「スポーツチャレンジ賞」奨励賞をメンバー全員で受賞。

 

2023年のラグビーワールドカップ フランス大会は現地での活動を行い、東武トップツアーズが主催する『スクラム・ユニゾンとうたってたのしむ観戦ツアー』が実施され、匠と美里は４０日間、現地にて活動をし、現地メディアなどの取材も多数受けた。

2025年8月、活動当初より取り組んでいた国歌の歌唱練習動画において、世界にある全ての国歌を歌い切った。

Formed in 2019 during the Rugby World Cup in Japan by former national team captain Toshiaki Hirose, musician Takumi Murata, and singer Miri Tanaka, the group began its journey with the motto: “Welcoming fans and players from around the world through national anthems.” Their activities started with releasing national anthem practice videos on YouTube.

The initiative quickly gained momentum. In July 2019, they performed the national anthems at the international test match “Japan vs. Fiji,” and went on to appear at rugby-related events and public viewings across Japan. They also visited elementary and junior high schools to provide singing workshops. During the World Cup itself, they were featured at numerous official “Fan Zone” events. Ultimately, their activities were recognized as part of the official Rugby World Cup content, with anthem lyric cards (supervised by Scrum Unison) distributed at the final match venue, encouraging audiences nationwide to join in singing both countries’ national anthems before kick-off.

 

In recognition of these achievements, the group was awarded the Encouragement Prize of the Sports Challenge Awardfrom the Yamaha Motor Foundation for Sports in 2020.

 

Their efforts extended internationally during the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France. Through the “Scrum Unison Singing & Viewing Tour,” organized by Tobu Top Tours, Takumi and Miri spent over 40 days on the ground, engaging with local fans and media while spreading the joy of singing together.

 

By August 2025, their long-standing project of creating national anthem practice videos had surpassed 200 performances―culminating in the remarkable accomplishment of singing every national anthem in the world.
